Garpanchkot

Garpanchkot is fascinating with its lush greenery, hills, lakes and its great natural and historical attractions. Garh (i.e. forte) Panchkot is a ruined fort located in the eastern part of India at the foothills of Panchet Hill in the district of Purulia, West Bengal. The ruins of the Panchkot Palace are a silent witness to the Bargi attack during the 18th century in the undivided Bengal. This was the ruling period of the Nawab of Bengal Alivardi Khan. There are scattered ruins of many terakotta style temples around Garpanchkot. The famous is the Panchratna Temple ruins.

Joychandi Hill

Joychandi Hill or Joychandi Pahar (Bengali : জয়চন্ডী পাহাড়) is a hill which is a popular tourist attraction. Joychandi Hill is in the Indian state of West Bengal in Purulia district. It is two kilometers from the sub-divisional town of Raghunathpur, Purulia district. Joychandi hill is a popular tourist centre and major attraction for rock climbing. Joychandi Pahar is an excellent place to visit in a day trip. Approx. 500 steps to reach the hill top. Excellent views from top. These hills were used by the Oscar winning film director Mr. Satyajit Ray for his film Hirok Rajar Deshe.

Muradi Hill

Muradi Hil is located in the eastern part of India in the district of Purulia, West Bengal. Muradi Hill is surrounded with beautiful green forest of mainly Sal, Tamal, Sonajhuri, Palas, a big natural lake and few elegant hills. You can do fishing, bird watching etc. This place is very beautiful picnic place and there is also a small dam named Ramchandra pur Dam.

Muradi Lake

Muradi / Baranti Lake is a big and beautiful natural lake. You can do fishing, bird watching etc. Our resort is located in the bed of Muradi Lake. It's a good spot for relaxation and great sunset viewing location. Sunset happens quite late during summer days, so totally worth it if you reach there before the Sunset. A lot of date palms could be found in the region.

SUSUNIA PAHAR

Susunia (Bengali: শুশুনিয়া) is a hill of southern West Bengal, India. It is known for its holy spring, flora and the rock faces on which many mountaineers of the region started their journey. It is also a reserve for medicinal plants. Susunia Hill or Susunia Pahar (1,200 ft) is the highest hill of Bankura. It is a place of archaeological interest and a rock climbing center. It is believed that there earlier was a fort built by King Chandravarman. Some 4th century inscriptions are there, referring to a place called Pushkarana, once the capital of King Chandravarman. There is an ancient carved monolith (Narasingha stone) standing at the point where the spring water is coming out of another curved stone projected spout.

Panchet Dam

Panchet Dam is an earthen dam constructed on Damodar River at Panchet. The dam was constructed under the highly popular and ambitious multipurpose river valley project, called the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). The Panchet dam site is located in District Dhanbad, State Jharkhand. It is an earthen dam with concrete spillway. The reservoir taps a catchment area of 10,961 square kilometres. Panchet dam can satisfy a visitor's quence for nature's beauty, peace, wild life glance as well as historical tour. The dam is a large one. There is running water sounds that can be early heard. There are beautiful park nearby. Panchet fort is close by and snake park is just besides the dam.

Maitohn Dam

Maitohn Dam is famous for its natural beauty, Blue water, Green hills and colorful flowers. The dam is constructed on the Barakar River. It is 15,712 ft (4,789 m) long and 165 ft (50 m) high. The lake is spread over 65 square kilometres. The native People of villages surrounding Maithon speak Santhali. This dam was specially designed for flood control and generates 60,000 kW of electric power. There is an underground power station, the first of its kind in the whole of South East Asia. There are beautiful places nearby like: Deer Park, Chammach Pahar (Spoon Island also called Sobuj Deep in Bengali) Boating can be done here, Phoolbagan & Millennium Park, Kaali Pahari, Maithon Hydel Power Plant, Maithon Thermal Power Plant, Pahari Baba Mandir.

Kalyaneshwari Temple

Kalyaneshwari temple is dedicated to godess Kalyaneshwari, an incarnation of godess Kaali. The temple of Goddess Kalyaneshwari is believed to fulfill the wishes of childless women. Kalyaneshwari temple is on the border of West Bengal and Jharkhand, nestled in the lap of 'Hyangla Pahar'- the 'Hungry Mountain'. It is very near to the Maithon Dam. The name Maithon is said to have been derived from Mai-Ka-Than meaning 'Holy Mother's Abode'. Kalyaneshwari temple is a 500-year-old centre of Shakti worship and is said to be built by a Hindu King Harigupta. Legend has it that human sacrifices were offered at Kalyaneshwari in the remote past. The present temple, however, is not very old and was constructed by the Panchkot Raj.

Ajodhya Hills

Ajodhya Hills (Bengali: অযোধ্যা পাহাড়), is an extension of the Dolma Hills of Jharkhand. It is a small plateau with hilly surroundings located in the Purulia district of the state West Bengal, India. It is the easternmost part of the Chhotanagpur Plateau and extended part of Eastern Ghats range. Many people come here to practice mountaineering and rock climbing. It is an extremely beautiful place with hills, valleys, deep forest, springs and waterfalls, lakes and river. Watching tribal village, bird watching and variety of wild animals in the forest makes this place more adventurous. There are many beautiful places nearby like: Sita-kunda, Garh Dham, Biswashram, Tea Garden, Mayur Pahar (Sunset Point), Jugni (Cave), Ram Temple, Blue Water Lake, Bamni Falls, Turga Falls, Turga Dam, Lower Dam, Upper Dam, Lahoria Shiva Temple, Machkanda Falls, Pakhi Pahar, Charida village and many others.

Biharinath Hills

Biharinath (Bengali: বিহারীনাথ) is the tallest hill of Bankura District, in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is a part of the Eastern Ghats. It is 451 metres (1,480 ft) high. Biharinath is known as the Araku Valley of West Bengal. It has one of the dense forest areas of the district. Especially some rare wild animals like pangolin, hyena, racaphorus and chameleon are still found in the area. Biharinath offers a pollution-free green surroundings where water is panacea. This place has hills, dense forests with abundant flora and fauna, spring, water bodies, Damodar River, and a renowned Shiva temple. If you are a adventure lover you can climb Biharinath hill. In the winter you can buy molasses made from Date juice. Paleolithic tools are discovered in the Biharinath area. Thus, the areas have come into focus of archaeologists.

Biharinath Temple

Biharinath temple is dedicated to god Biharinath, an incarnation of god Shiva. Biharinath temple is situated at the foothills of Biharinath, popularly known as the Biharinath dham and a small tank is located at the foothill. Biharinath temple is the most famous Shiva temple in the western part of Bengal and for some ways beyond the state. Millions of pilgrims throng there throughout the year.

Saheb Bandh

Saheb Bandh is one of the popular and famous water-bodies of Purulia. Saheb bandh is a 50 acre man made Lake in Purulia district, that is known to have been constructed in the mid of 19th century. It is a shelter of the migratory birds which comes from Bangladesh, Burma, Pakistan, Baluchistan, Siberia and several places in Europe, to this place. Thus, for birdwatchers, Saheb Bandh is a popular retreat. Note
